Rise and Shine Farms Approved by State of Nevada

Rise and Shine Farms has been approved to be the first on farm poultry processor in Nevada.

LOCAL CHICKEN!!!

Here is your chance to invest in a small local farm AND fill your freezer with local  chicken.

We have been working on this for two years  and know we still have a lot to do. There is still a lot to be hammered out with the state and a couple of inspections to get through. We know that there could be some delays and ask that you understand that we can’t give you an exact date for delivery. We hope to be up and running by July at the latest. If at any time, before construction begins, we see that it’s not going to happen this season, we will refund your money.
Once you buy a share, we will keep you informed on all the progress and we hope to have an open house once we get the final O.K. to start processing.
Even though this project is a lot more detailed than we had hoped for, we will be inspected by the state so it will allow us to legally sell our poultry to anyone in Nevada.
With this new facility, we will also be able to have classes to teach  poultry processing and to help other farmers through this process.

We have already ordered the first of the chicks, later we plan to breed and start our own birds. We’re raising chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese. We’re  starting with a couple different breeds of chickens and some will take longer than others to raise.
In order to get us started we will have mostly hybrid broad breasted  chickens. Eventually we will only raise heritage breeds which are more tasty and more sustainable. The chickens offered in the shares are whole chickens but later we will have all cuts available . All the poultry we raise is allowed to free range as soon as they are able to come out of the brooder. We do not give antibiotics or hormones. All our animals are harvested as humanely as possibly.

We are selling the chickens by the case. A case has 24 chickens and the cost is $288 a share. We will be offering 30 shares.
